Hotel Review: Seafarers Getaway Resort (The Standard Studio)

Hotel Review: Seafarers Getaway Resort (The Standard Studio)

written by limkopi August 27, 2016

Seafarers Getaway Resort is located just right before the town of Apollo Bay. What’s really awesome about this resort is that it is built on a higher ground, which allows patrons to enjoy the Great Ocean in their room.

Around Seafarers Getaway Resort you can find practically nothing but sheep, greenery and ocean. If you need to stock up your groceries and food, the nearest supermarket in Apollo Bay is  just 5-minutes drive away from the place.

Our Check-in Experience

Upon arriving at the premise, we followed the signs and parked our rental car outside the reception house. We arrived slightly later than the check-in time as it was raining heavily that day. Our room was already ready when we arrived and we were handed our keys shortly after a brief.

We got to know that the reception closed in the evening. The check-in keys will be left outside of the reception house in an event you didn’t manage to get to the place before it closes.

Seafarers Getaway Resort: The Standard Studio

We were greeted by the sea immediately when we entered our studio. We really love how the bed is actually facing the balcony such that we can actually glance at the sky at night at a really comfortable position.

The air-conditioner can be used as both heater or cooler. It was winter when we arrived at the resort so our air-conditioner is always set as a heater.

Executive Studio

Our room is well-maintained and well-lighted. It also feels like it’s bigger than at 35 sq.m apartment even though there is a kitchen in place. We find it really comfortable for two adults.

Executive Studio

Seafarers Getaway’s Executive Studio – Slightly yellow-lighted because of the direction of lights.

The balcony is locked by two layers of doors. The inner door can only be locked from the inside so you are perfectly safe from any potential dangers. The balcony blind can only be controlled using a remote controller. It was raining the whole day so we didn’t have the mood to admire the scenery by the balcony.

The bathroom is clean and spacious. The resort provides shampoo, body wash and towels for your usage. Bear in mind that the resort does not do room service daily. However, they will provide more towels if you stay longer than 2 nights.

Other Facilities/Amenities

We were trying to find a photo without any signs of cooking. Unfortunately, this is the cleanest photo we can find from our stash. The kitchen is well-equipped with induction cooker, fridge and microwave. There are no condiments or any sorts so be prepared to get your own.

Executive Studio's Kitchen

The Standard Studio’s kitchen is equipped with all the necessary equipment for simple cooking.

All the pots, plates and utensils are very clean. Perhaps the only complain is that this room does not have any dish washer, hence, you have to be prepared to wash your own dishes at the sink.

There is also plenty of designated car park space to park your car for free so you don’t have to worry about car park charges.

Overall Impression

Overall, we were really happy that we decided to book a studio with Seafarers Getaway Resort. It is actually must more expensive than the hotels in town but it looks newer and more modern in contrast.

We really enjoy the sound of the waves as we slept through the night. There are also sheep loitering around the green land behind our house. It’s the kind of experience that we will not be able to get if we choose to stay in the town.

All in all, we feel that we have made a right choice in staying in this studio!
