A few months ago, we received a $25 promotional voucher for a night’s stay at Oasia Hotel Novena from AMEX. The voucher came
Here’s our one-night stay experience with the hotel!
We made a reservation with the hotel through email as the booking code was not valid on the website. The reservation sales executive responded to my first email in 4 hours and we received our confirmation by the end of the day. That’s really fast and hasslefree!
Under the booking code, we were only able to book the superior room. To our surprise, we were given an upgrade when we checked into the hotel that day. That was a very nice gesture as we truly enjoy the club room.
We were really lucky because we only have to pay for $25 inc taxes for the club room!
Located a stone throw away from Novena MRT, you can travel to the town area by train within 15 minutes. I really doubt that there is any need to travel to town as you can do almost everything (e.g. ktv, cinema) within the area.
The hotel’s close proximity to the shopping malls also
We arrived at around 3.00 pm on a Saturday. There was a queue at the front desk but the waiting time was manageable. We waited for about 10-minutes before we get our room key.
The Club Room
There were four types of room category in the hotel: superior, deluxe, club and club suite. In terms of amenities, there were some differences between superior/deluxe and club/club suites.
We didn’t know that we were given an upgrade to the club room until we hit the button in the lift. That’s when we realized that we
The hotel is designed by a Japanese firm, which brings minimalistic nature-inspired elements into the rooms. If you like Muji, you will definitely like the room as much as us.
The room is efficient in using all the available spaces. All the amenities were hidden in the cupboard. We had a Nespresso machine and a set of TWG tea in our room
Just like most hotels, the room comes with complimentary wifi access. Unfortunately, I couldn’t connect my Apple TV to the wifi directly (due to website redirection). Seems like I should really add an ethernet cable to my packing list!
We really love the design of the bathroom. Apart from the fact that it has both a standing shower and bathtub, it has a set of bathroom amenities from Biology!
The triangular modern sink added a good touch to the bathroom.
We were treated with a good view since our room was on a high floor. Since there were not many high rise building in the surrounding, you can almost see the rest of the island from the room.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and felt really glad that we did not forfeit the promotional voucher (almost did!).
Unfortunately, we did not visit the executive lounge since we had made plans to visit a restaurant at the nearby shopping mall.
If you are looking for a stay near the town and find that Orchard’s too expensive, I will recommend staying in Hotel Oasia Novena for the comfort, location and price of the rooms!
